Our stated meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of September thru mid-June, at the Palestine Lodge #189 Temple. The Palestine Temple is located at Frederick and Newburg Avenues in Catonsville, MD 21228.
Millington is not a large Lodge, but has seen very good growth over the past few years. It is very family oriented and offers a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
A Brief History of Millington Lodge #166
Millington Lodge #166, A.F. & A.M.,
was instituted May 12th, 1874, with F. B. Dumham, W. M., Charles T.
Turner, S.W., and John G. Hollyday, J.W.
It's first meeting was held in a
room over the grocery store on the corner of Millington Avenue and
Frederick Road.
Outgrowing it's quarters, it then
removed to a hall on Frederick Road, near what was then known as Rock
Spring Run. After remaining there for some time, a hall was built for
it's accommodation on Frederick Road, opposite to it's starting
place. Here it continued to meet for many years, until the place
became too small for it's meetings; and finally, in September, 1903,
it removed into the Masonic Temple, located at 225 North Charles
Street.
In 1996 as a result of the decision
to construct a new Grand Lodge building in Cockeysville, MD and after
meeting for 93 years in the old Charles Street Temple, the Lodge,
having held it's One Hundred and Twenty-second installation of
officers, relocated to the new Grand Lodge building located at 304
International Circle, Cockeysville, MD 21030, by the order of Grand
Master Ponzillo.
In November, 1998, P.M. Grebe wrote a request asking the newly elected Grand Master, Larrimore, for permission to relocate from the Grand Lodge. On December 2, 1998, Grand Master Francis E. Larrimore granted the request and on January 12, 1999, Millington Lodge #166 officially relocated to Palestine Lodge #189 Temple, located on the corner of Frederick Road and Newburg Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland; only a few miles from our first meeting location.
